Music:

All songs in this episode by the Normal from their single T.V.O.D. / Warm Leatherette, released on Mute Records in 1978.

  • “T.V.O.D.”
  • “Warm Leatherette”

Notes:

Listener Nick Jewlachow suggested it would be a good idea to do a deep-dive on the UK label Mute Records. Spoiler: it WAS a GREAT idea!

Dig into the story of a label started with a synthesizer, a four track tape recorder and some earnings from film editing. Throw in a little help from Rough Trade Distribution and a classic label was born.
